A Pkmn Story: Chapter 12 - Aerodactyl

A Pokemon Story

Chapter 12
Aerodactyl

The icy Froslass-lady came out of Chris’ pokeball and swirled around for a while, then touched the ground in an elegant manner and smiled playfully, waving its scarf to its opponent. Espeon made a step forward, knowing it was meant to battle alongside her partner for Chris.

The girl smiled.
‘We never even got to know each other properly. My name is Rebecca and I saw that Azelf first.’
Chris let the Azelf out of his arms and it hovered down to its legs, where it hid behind him.
‘Seriously, you bore me. It’s because of you that I came out here at this time of day, seeking for something that apparently doesn’t exist, and now you’re getting on my nerves with your stupid attitude. You’ve still got time to flee this battle.’
‘You have to be kidding me, please tell me so’ she replied. ‘Your cutie-pie pokemon won’t even stand a chance against my dessert-colossus! Garchomp, use Earthquake! Aerodactyl, Rockslide that Froslass!’
The Aerodactyl, being the fastest between the pokemon, hit the area with a schockwave from its wings, rocks started falling on both of Chris’ pokemon but he didn’t even flinch.
‘Rock is powerful against ice; your Froslass shouldn’t even have survived that!’

Chris grinned. Her Garchomp was getting ready to attack by accelerating itself into the sky and falling to the ground with immense prowess and speed.
‘Froslass, Ice Beam.’ he almost whispered. A bright flash of light escaped from the rock pile and hit the Garchomp while it was still in mid-air, freezing it completely, making it fall to the ground inelegantly and ineffectively moretheless. The Earthquake attack was blocked successfully.
Rebecca just stared towards her fainted Garchomp, large ice parts still shattering around it.
‘My Froslass is wearing a focus sash, allowing it to survive any instant k.o. attack aiming at it.’
Froslass appeared out of the rock pile, seemingly wounded but still intact. It almost looked like it had an evil smile painted across its cute little face. Its breath was crystallizing the air around it as it had cooled down extremely to shoot that ice beam into the gigantic dragon.
‘Espeon, blast that cocky Aerodactyl away!’
Rebecca gasped in horror, as her pokemon was thrown onto her fainted dragon by Espeon’s psychic powers. It still managed to escape fainting, or worse, and hardly made its way up in the air again, confused by the surprising hit.
‘As you see, you’re one hit away from losing this battle. You may or may not be able to hit one of my pokemon, but the other one is still going to drag you down to your last health points. Better give up now to preserve the last bits of dignity you still have left on you.’
Rebecca looked around, obviously anxious by her losing control of the battle just like that. She started jumping around in anger, waving her arms up and down, screaming stuff Chris didn’t understand. The situation had gotten very puzzling, him not knowing what had gotten into her at all.
‘You little… Aerodactyl, crunch that Azelf to death!’ she yelled, and her pokemon immediately reacted flying over the not-so-well-hidden Azelf that was still waiting behind Chris. Chris, obviously shocked by her weird and perfunctory mindset, was unable to counter her attack, and just in the last seconds before the Azelf was going to be crushed inside that prehistoric monsters mouth, his Froslass shot instinctively another ice beam towards the flying relic. Aerodactyl was dislodged and hit the crevice behind it, falling down to the ground, unable to move any further.

‘You son of a-‘ Rebecca started swearing and threw an empty pokeball towards the agitated Azelf. The pokeball, which was meant to catch it, or better, to try to catch it, hit the pokemon and fell aside. No reaction. No sucking in, no fancy colours, nothing.
‘You can’t catch that Azelf, you know.’ Chris said quickly.
Rebecca just stared at the still empty pokeball, to Azelf and then to Chris’ direction.
‘It’s yours, isn’t it?’ she replied calmly.
‘It’s mine, yes. Sorry if it got you into any…trouble.’

The sarcastic answer he gave her wasn’t worth her time probably. She returned her pokemon back to their pokeballs and run away.

A Pkmn Story: Chapter 11 - Garchomp

A Pokemon Story

Chapter 11
Garchomp

It's really been some time since this story was updated. Not even being sure if anyone is reading this, i'm still as annoyed as anyone of you would be, if you're even still at it, that it wasn't. University, work and personal matters got a little overwhelming, hated it that the story was put on ice nevertheless. I'm back now and I'll try to update more often. Things start to get a little more serious storywise, really hope you like it(although i doubt it really was worth such a long wait:P)! Any comment or review is highly appreciated dear readers; Let me know if you are there!

She sure kept secrets. As did Chris.
Like, Chris had a lot to hide obviously, or he wouldn’t act like this all the time. And one of his so called secrets was about to be unveiled as a little blue spot flew over the rocky territory directly in his arms, having accelerated so much that it nearly threw him to the ground.
‘Azelf?’ he said in anxiety.
‘Azelf!’ the girl shouted and looked back to her Garchomp. ‘Go, Garchomp, this is is!’
The giant landshark started trampling around and made its way in front of its trainer.
‘Go away trainer, this Azelf is mine! Garchomp, use Dragon Claw!’
Before he could even react, the Garchomps claws started glowing and it started running towards its target, which in conclusion was Chris himself. Unable to even say a word he just stared over to that giant dragon who was about to shred him to pieces when a purple barrier of light appeared in front of him. Espeon responded quickly and got in an attacking stance, making its red third eye light up and blocking Garchomp’s attack with Barrier and a consecutive Psychic. Garchomp was lifted up into the air and was pusched back in a matter of seconds, crashing into the crevices and producing avalanches around them. Chris looked over to the Espeon and to the Azelf that held tight to him in his arms and made a step backwards.
‘Where do you think you’re going?’ the girl shouted and threw a pokeball in the air. ‘Aerodactyle, go!’
The Aerodactyle that appeared was a lot bigger than Chris had them in his memory from all the archeology books his parents had at home. That ancient pokemon she had in her arsenal was seriously well trained and brought up, as was the rest of her team probably. She was after the Azelf so he had to do something. Luckily her Hippowdon had probably fainted, so she wouldn’t get the advantage over the weather with its ability.

‘What’s with you and that Azelf?’ he asked.
‘What’s with YOU and that Azelf? We are looking for it for days now. Why are you even protecting it, it’s not like it’s your own. If you stand in my way I’ll run you over. Don’t even think about catching it or whatever you’re doing right now.’

Chris smiled. It was on. Her Garchomp had gotten up and stood behind her, flapping its fin-like wings up and down in the air and the sand from the sandstorm scattered around. ‘Go Froslass!’ he said and threw his pokeball in the air.

A Pkmn Story: Chapter 10 - Hippowdon

A Pokemon Story

Chapter 10
Hippowdon

The Sandstorm got worse by the minute and as the area got more uphill and hard to overcome, Chris started losing his endurance and patience. He was sick of walking alone for so long, may it have been forty minutes or three hours, so he decided to stop only caring about the health of his pokemon but to use his companions to make the journey a little more enjoyable and easy.
‘Espeon, use Morning Sun!’ he murmured, as he drew the pokeball out of his pocket and pushed the release button. Espeon run around its trainer, its four standing up due to the severe weather conditions. It closed its eyes and its third eye started glowing. A dim circle of light appeared around it and started worming its way up to the sky, through the sand clouds and the brown matter, seeking its way to the sun. The ray got stronger and lapped the pokemon in it. Chris entered the circle and everything got faint. The sound of the storm, the wind, everything lost in volume. He fondled his Espeon’s head and they kept walking.

They didn’t even have to walk this way for over five minutes when suddenly the storm disappeared. Espeon scanned the area and let the Morning Sun shield down, since the wind had calmed down and the dust in the air slowly sank down to the ground. Then it looked back to Chris, who just casually stood there, obviously distracted and puzzled by what just had happened. Was the wild Tyranitar dead already, or worse, did someone else catch it before him? The different scenarios kept coming to him and got him more devastated every time he could thing of a new one. It was already late in the afternoon and the soon was about to set. What should he do? Should he return?
Espeon blinked and growled silently. Chris felt a fresh sensation running through his veins. ‘Thank you Espeon.’. His pokemon had given him a psychic power push, feeling him with positive energy and warm energy. Espeon hadn’t given up, how could he? ‘We have half an hour before we should head back so we don’t get caught up in the dark. Piece of cake, huh?’ Espeon purred and smiled and they continued.

And they wouldn’t even need to walk for more than ten more minutes, even if it was intensive walking. Somewhere under the cliffs, a girl was training with her pokemon, a massive Garchomp and some other ground types. Chris recognized her instantly, the girl from the tournament. She certainly wasn’t a contestant in “who do you wanna bump into next?”, since she just reminded him of that arrogant wimp he lost against, but a little human companionship after half a day would certainly do him some good.
‘I am training down here with my party; since we lost in that final and didn’t get that surprise invitation we’re really upset. What you did in that last battle of yours was remarkable dude. Like, you were so out of order but still thought about your team and forfeited. Good call right there, shows you got the stuff. What are you doing down here anyway?’
Chris was confused again. Didn’t she feel the sandstorm? But how couldn’t she, she was practically in the middle of it. He glanced over to her Garchomp, which was seemingly exhausted by the hard training. Then he was enlightened.
‘You have a sand team, right?’
‘Yeah, didn’t you see my match?’
He didn’t. How could he, he had left the arena and never spoke about that tournament to anyone.
‘I didn’t. What’s your weather inducer?’
‘My Hippowdon. It’s in a pretty bad condition though; we’ve trained for hours today!’

Chris sighed. Hippowdons also have the ability sand stream, just like Tyranitars. He obviously had mistaked the girls’ pokemon’s ability for a random act of luck, obviously no Pupitars had evolved around here. The whole journey and expectation for nothing. He would have probably known, hadn’t he overreacted so badly and had he stayed to watch the final match against that girl and ‘accent boy’. He couldn’t tell her that he made such a big mistake now. ‘Play it cool, Chris.’ he thought to himself.
‘We trained too but were about to head back now. Anything else of significance around here?’
The girl looked at him in question.
‘No..Not that I know of…’ she stuttered.
‘Kay, see you around then.’

She obviously had something to hide.
