A Pkmn Story: Chapter 9 - Sandstorm

A Pokemon Story

Chapter 9
Sandstorm

The near outskirts of the town where very scarcely inhabited and the countryside in brackets, started of quite quickly. That is if what you consider countryside isn’t grassy plains and giant valleys of trees and flowers and green stuff in general. Rocks and boulders embellished the ground and the roads, although being wide, were empty most of the time as no cars really drove away from this side of the town. Fact wasn’t that it led nowhere but on the other hand it didn’t really lead anywhere either. The next inhabited area was really far away and in between were little places for people to stay. Good thing he had taken his ‘How to have a good trip while on foot’-manual with him, he thought. That was meant to be ironic, he didn’t really own one.

The weather kept being balmy but more clouds approached by the hour and even someone not trained to be a weatherman could predict some bad weather coming up. The sky turned from light blue into a dirty beige colour, which looked a lot like a bright afternoon sky, with the sun going down somewhere behind those clouds. That was probably what everyone would assume. However, Chris knew better. The farther he walked, the more severe the effects of the upcoming sandstorm were. The wind got colder and his sight got weaker. Some reasons to believe he got nearer to his target with every single footstep he did. Only did he end up having two of them, one of which he didn’t have a proper way of dealing with it. Like a father being angry over his disobedient child, he had to look for that Azelf shown on TV earlier. Arceus knew what trouble it would get him into.

A Pkmn Story: Chapter 8 - Azelf

A Pokemon Story

Chapter 8
Azelf

Today

The amount of news about the tournament on the television was quite high, they died down though, as the days passed. At first everyone wondered about their local favourite and the reasons behind his resignation, but interviews with his opponents revealed that his behavior was clever and protective over his own party. Although he struggled in his last battle and underperformed, continuing battling could end up lethal for his pokemon, his Togekiss being in a bad state, and his Espeon not having any way to attack Irene’s Honchcrow directly, since Dark type pokemon stay unaffected by Psychic moves.

Dan won the tournament in a quick battle against that other girl in the finals, and except for the appraisal, price money and the medal, got, as a surprise win, an official invitation to the Grand Tournament, happening at the end of the summer like every year. Only trainers that aspire large aims and win special tournaments held around every region are invited to this occasion, a gathering for the crème de la crème of trainers to crown the best of them. The invitations though were very personal, and handed out on secret happenings or on short notice, like in this occasion, which produced even more hatred and despair against that person. For no absolute reason.

The haunt for Tyranitar had become a serious thing, a good addition to his team and a strong ally to crush his next opponents and maybe get an invitation to the Grand Tournament. He never had the need to participate in it, Dan being invited though made it a personal manner. The Grant Tournament had acquired legendary status around the regions, but nobody really talked about it, since nobody knew anything specifically.

The TV flashed in bright colours as they reported of the sighting of a small blue pokemon named Azelf around the mountain crevices. Azelf was said to be a myth, and little was known or recorded about its way of living. The legendary pokemon teaching mankind willpower was now shown on picture, as a small blue dot with ears and tails hovering above a small watery area. Or at least a blue dot assumed to be Azelf itself. Chris turned off the TV and sighed. He threw some things in his backpack and called his Espeon inside. Espeon turned its head towards his calling, stood up and ran inside. There it rubbed itself on Chris’ leg and purred joyfully.

‘Ready Espeon?’
The pokemon nodded and they left the house
together .

Series Review: Pretty Little Liars

Series Review: Pretty Little Liars

It’s time for…………….Pretty Little Liars!
I know that most of you adore this show. For the few ones that haven’t watched it yet I decided to write a review. I watched the spring finale a couple of weeks ago and after watching it I wondered. How can a show be this awesome?

So PLL is an American series based on a series of novels written by Sara Shepard. It’s an interesting mix of drama, mystery and a fabulous sense of fashion. Lies, secrets, love affairs and murders are the reason the show is so successful.

Four girls (Spencer, Hannah, Aria, Emily) live in the fictional town of Rosewood and after the sadden disappearance of their friend, Alison, are stalked and threatened by someone named ‘A’, who seems to know their every move and all of their secrets. They soon realize that their lives are in danger…and they can tell no one…

I haven’t watched an episode that has disappointed me.  It is by far my favorite series and I never miss an episode. ABC family has done a great job once again! It deserves 10 hearts/10 !

So tell me…Did you watch it?

A Pkmn Story: Chapter 7 - Honchcrow

A Pokemon Story

Chapter 7
Honchcrow

Metagross seemed to be happy by his achievement and frolicked around the battlefield, when it suddenly started shaking, like the sleeping Togekiss did before; the curse started showing its effects. Chris shook as well. He again played the battle before in his head over and over again. He felt serious hate for that person, with no apparent reason other than that he beat him or maybe that he had a weird accent. But obviously that was enough to call him arrogant and stupid.

‘Honchcrow, it’s your turn!’
A big black crow emerged out of Irene’s pokeball, its feathers around its head were arranged in a way to look like a hat. The giant boss crow flew over the battlefield, made a loop and returned to Irene’s side. ‘Honchcrow, use Heat Wave!’
Being unaware a dark type bird had access to a fire type move as strong as Heat Wave which would definitely be devastating for his steel type, Chris tried to come up with some kind of last minute strategy for his Metagross, other than roughly attacking, which wasn’t an easy task as he couldn’t look away from his pokemon struggling to overcome the curse Gengar laid on him before. The Heat Wave struck the stadium, as a massive fire wall appeared out of nowhere and Honchcrow controlled it by flapping its wings back and forth. Metagross was soon lost in the flames.
Although he was a steel type he may achieve to make it through the attack, Chris thought, and commanded it to follow up with another Thunderpunch. As the flames calmed down Metagross appeared out of the mess, severely damaged, but still intact and pulled the Thunderpunch through. Honchcrow got blasted into the air and fell in front of its trainer.
‘Honchcrow!’
The bird moved its wings mechanically and tried standing up. Metagross’ shaking got stronger and it collapsed. The Heat Wave and the Curse had done their job in bringing down the metal monster. Honchcrow got its balance up and stood up, panting, but still able to battle.
‘METAGROSS CANNOT BATTLE ANYMORE. PLEASE PROCEED TO YOUR NEXT POKEMON.’

Frustration.
Chris looked over to his opponent. Irene whispered empowering words to her pokemon and probably waited for Chris to call out his Espeon, or his still sleeping Togekiss. He drew out his pokeball and the red flash returned Metagross to him. He, then, raised his left hand in the air and lowered his head, a motion that in official battles indicated that the player gave up. The crowd broke out in shouts and screams of surprise or disappointment or both and Chris left the stadium running, avoiding talking, seeing and any other possible human contact.

Series Review: Being Human (US)

Series review: Being Human (US)

So guess what I found! There is a US version of ‘Being Human’! Thank God for that! Don’t get me wrong, I love the UK. But I love me a US production. I mean Americans can take anything mediocre and make it SPECTACULAR!

So you know, I am a huge series fan. I’ve watched like 100 series so far and reviews of every single one are coming up. Recently I came across ‘Being Human (UK)’ and to be honest I didn’t really like it. I thought it looked kind of low budget. The storyline was very interesting but I didn’t like the settings. Three days later I found the US version by accident. I’m so glad I did.

The story is about a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost living in the same house. Each one of them has to overcome their own personal demons and find themselves in numerous dangerous situations. The characters are well portrayed and after watching a couple of episodes I feel like I know them well enough.

I know what you are going to say. Vampires and werewolves? Again? The answer is YES. Come on. Admit it. You can’t be tired of hot supernatural being battling against evil. The plot is different, the characters are well portrayed and the scenes seem expensive.

I highly recommend the US version over the UK one. After a couple of episodes you won’t seem to be able to stop watching. I personally won’t stop and I’ll probably watch all three seasons in a heartbeat. I would say it deserves 7.5 hearts/10 and the UK version 3,5. Sorry England (not!).

So tell me…Did you watch it?
